Senior Conference Services Manager - Retired Divorced 3 yes
I have lived in Scottsdale, Arizona for the past 30 years.  I recently retired from my Senior Conference Services Manager position at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess.  Although I am still part-time on-call at the hotel, I am really enjoying retirement.  Two of my three sons still reside in Scottsdale so I am blessed to have my five grandchildren close by.  My youngest son and his wife live in New York City so I still get to travel East on a regular basis.  Although I only attended Whitman for a short time, I'm looking forward to reconnecting with my classmates since I have known many of you since Elementary School!

anthropologist, retired Divorced 2 yes
I came to Cincinnati for college, discovered anthropology, married, and started teaching at Northern Kentucky University, just across the river.  Teaching anthropology and raising my wonderful sons, Joshua, 41, an electrical engineer, and Gabriel, 36, the new father of darling twins, have been the main forces in my life, though along the way I managed to get a doctorate (Cambodian refugees), and do some writing and traveling.

Most of my travel and research have been in Ghana, but also throughout West Africa, with tourist travel to other countries.  I've recently retired after 44 years and finding it fabulous.  I'm managing to fill it with family, friends, reading, communal gardening, singing, and more travel, including, finally, my own personal 60-year-reunion back to  Paris.

I'm so much looking forward to the reunion, reminiscing together, and enjoying old friendships!

Technically, I left Whitman just before graduation to move to Dallas, but I'm glad to still be on the Whitman list and plan to attend the reunion.

I have lived in Dallas almost all the time since I left Washington. I had two children rather late in life so they are just now launching their careers. I'm retired now, but my work life was 40 years of IT assignments, much of which kept me traveling internationally

Thanks to the folks who spearheaded this reunion.

So glad some of us will be getting together!  I am still teaching for the University of Texas in psychology and doing fiber arts when I can.  My biologist husband and I have 7 children combined that live all over the United States so we have great places to visit.  We spend a lot of time on the norther Oregon Coast.  I can't believe it has been more than 50 years as that sounds like something my mother would say and not me!  Looking forward to see you all. Mostly retired Married 1 yes
When we moved to MD in 1962, my mother (a teacher) had me placed in 10th grade for half of my classes and 11th grade for the other half. So by June 1964, I had finished 11th grade and half of 12th. My parents had me skip my senior year. After the first year of college, I got a WWHS diploma dated June 1965. I think of myself as part of both classes and am looking forward to the joint reunion!  I am blessed to be married for 18+ years to Ron Williams and have 1 stepdaughter & 2 grandchildren. Ron & I are members of the glorious a cappella choir at our Eastern Orthodox cathedral church in Minneapolis. I have a part-time "retirement job" in a fabric store (my natural habitat!) in St. Paul, and work in DFL (MN Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party) politics & activism.

Attorney Married 2 yes
I went off to college after graduation and then to law school; married Diana (Class of 1965) on August 16, 1969 ( instead of attending Woodstock); graduated from law school in 1971; travelled in Europe for 9 months to find ourselves ( we are still looking ); and then began my career in California with a public interest law firm where I developed a life-long interest in environmental law and protection.

In 1976, Diana and I moved back to the Washington area to settle down and raise our children, Katherine and Daniel. I have worked in several law firms over the years and remained engaged with the environmental community on a pro bono basis.

I felt fortunate to attend a high school that was unencumbered by long-standing traditions and established social groups.   More than most students, we had a chance to influence the culture, standards and traditions of our high school.  We brought a lot ideas from our prior schools with us but also had a measure of space to create something new. That space also gave me a chance to think more freely about what I wanted to become at Whitman and beyond.

After college (in Wisconsin) and law school (in Massachusetts) I returned to Washington in 1972 to become an Assistant U.S. Attorney in Washington, D.C..  I left the U.S. Attorney's Office in 1976 and have been a defense attorney in Washington ever since, representing government officials, corporations and individuals in a wide range of "white collar" criminal prosecutions throughout the United States.  I am married to Janet Hirshberg, Walt Whitman Class of 1968.  We have a son (Taylor), who is a social worker, and he is married and has a 16 month old daughter.  It's hard to believe that we graduated from high school nearly 51 years ago!
